A single mum has been commended for her services to community care.

Abigal Tackie-Yarboi, from Stockwell, who cares for her brother and her three children, one of whom is disabled, has won Lambeth Council’s carer of the year award.

Councillor Jim Dickson, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: "This event is a highlight because it recognises some amazing people who give so much and make huge commitments.

"Every one of those nominated has made an outstanding contribution and deserves our thanks."
