Lambeth police’s top cop is leaving after less than two years in the job.
Lambeth Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Sharon Rowe, has taken a job as Assistant Chief Constable at the West Midlands Police.
She has run the borough’s police service since July 2007, but recently took four months away from Lambeth to train to reach her new rank.
Crime reduced during her time in charge.
She said: “When I came to Lambeth I promised I would reduce serious violence - and I have. I also promised I would reduce the overall crime in Lambeth – and I have.”
Her leaving date and who will take over running the borough is yet to be confirmed.
