Shakespeare created many wonderful plays in his time, but if you were only able to see one, which classic would you pick?

Thankfully at the Richmond Literature Festival, you will not have to make such a hard decision, as the devised play, Love’s Fool, showcases the best of Shakespeare’s love stories in one production.

The Richmond Shakespeare Society’s play features many of the playwright’s most beloved characters and aims to present a range of different kinds of love.

Audiences will witness the foolish love of Titania and Bottom in one scene and will be able to explore the intense, sexual love of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in the next.

Director Jane L’Epine says: "I am a huge Shakespeare lover, and it was a joy to create this production."

The society take to the stage for the first time at the Orleans House Gallery for two performances on November 15.

"It is fantastic to be part of the festival, I can’t believe it. It is marvellous when you see who are taking part," L’Epine says.

Although the hour-long play features a number of Shakespeare stories within one play, authenticity is the key and the original language has been used.

Elizabethan music, including guitar and singing, will also accompany the performances.

L'Epine continues: "We have a fantastic range of actors in the play, including adults and children. The production is very family friendly and could be the perfect way to introduce your kids to the world of Shakespeare."

Among the nine actors in the play is talented child actress Florence Chavallier, who was recently nominated for best child performer under 14 in a play or musical in the Artsrichmond’s swan awards.
