A cheerleading squad has been chosen to represent the UK in the 2013 Cheerleading World Championships in Florida next year.
The Surrey Starlets senior team Amethyst was given the thumbs up by the International Cheerleading Coalition (ICC) at an open nationals event held in Nottingham last month.
Surrey Starlets programme owner Kim Cope said: “This is such an amazing opportunity for the team. “To compete at the World Championships is a once in a life time opportunity.”
The Surrey Starlets currently train at Chessington Community College but are looking for a new facility to home their senior, junior and mini teams as well as financial backing to help get the team to Florida next year.
