Pupils and parents have been warned to be vigilant after a man attempted to indecently assault a school girl in New Malden.
Police said the girl was approached by a man near Westbury Road at about 4.45pm on Wednesday, November 16.
They said he grabbed hold of her hand and attempted to indecently assault her.
The man was dark skinned, about 25, and with short, possibly receding, hair.
Anyone who saw the incident is urged to contact Detective Constable Alex Gammampila on 020 8721 5842 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Police said pupils and parents should report any suspicious people to a member of staff or the police.
* A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with incident and bailed pending further inquiries.
