A married couple who share a love of photography have seen their images plastered across billboards in London, Cardiff and Liverpool.
Wendy Dobing and Sean Batten, of Surbiton, both won a competition run by Amateur Photographer magazine and beframeus, part of JCDecaux, that was designed to celebrate city life.
Graphic designer Ms Dobing, 38, of Oakenshaw Close, composed a picture of umbrellas near Borough Market.

She said: “I wanted to get as much of the colour in as possible and try to get the sunlight bursting through, so it was effectively drenched in colour.”
On winning the competition, she said: “It’s absolutely amazing. It just took my breath away to see my name up for everyone to see. I’ve never won a competition for photography before. It is a great feeling. Only in the past year have I really pushed myself and gone everywhere taking photos.
“Sean is a lot more advanced than I am.
“He’s quite successful. He’s the one that’s actually got me into this in the first place. He has taught me quite a lot.”

The couple’s photos – three by Ms Dobing and two by Mr Batten – will adorn billboards in the capital’s major train stations, as well as in Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Picadilly, Newcastle and York.
The competition, entered by more than 500 people, called for images that captured the people, views, animals or details of city life. In total 80 winning images were chosen.

Nigel Atherton, editor of Amateur Photographer, said: “Their pictures capture the vibrancy of life in the city and the power of the camera to tell stories that are relevant to us all. These pictures have it all – by turns heartwarming, stylish, edgy and dramatic.”
