London Mayor Boris Johnson visited New Malden this morning to support Kingston and Surbiton Conservative candidate James Berry.
The pair walked down the High Street visiting independent retailers.
Mr Berry said: “It was a great opportunity to have Boris down in New Malden and talk to people about my policies.
“I got to talk to people about my campaigns for Crossrail two, supporting our small businesses and stopping congestion around the Fountain roundabout.”
“It was great nearly everyone we met said they would definitely or probably be voting Conservative.”
Mr Johnson said on Twitter: “[James Berry] is setting a cracking pace in New Malden - campaigning for high-speed improvements and Crossrail Two.”
The pair were on the campaign trail in New Malden High Street
