Inspectors have praised the cleanliness, environment and standard of food at Epsom Hospital as part of a nationwide review.
The results from February’s Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) assessment, which is managed by the NHS Information Centre, show that Epsom Hospital was awarded an overall 'excellent' rating for food and ‘good’ for environment and the level of privacy and dignity offered to patients.
The survey looks at the hospital’s environment and a patient’s perspective on a range of factors affecting their experience during a stay at hospital, including cleanliness, food, the quality of the bathroom facilities, and, how infection prevention and control standards are promoted.
Pippa Hart, director of nursing said: "The PEAT assessment is extremely thorough, so these results are definitely something to be proud of.
"The fact that patients and local people are involved in the inspections makes them even more important."
