More than 700 visitors enjoyed entertainment including morris dancers and a steel band at the Woodcote Millennium Green’s 10th birthday celebrations.

Epsom General Hospital patients and visitors regularly use the tranquil six acre space, next to Woodcote Green Road, Epsom, to relax.

The Woodcote Millennium Green Trust hosted a special event on Sunday to mark its 10 year anniversary.

Epsom and Ewell MP Chris Grayling and mayor Councillor Clive Smitheram were among the crowd who enjoyed the Ewell Morris Men, a Punch and Judy show, a magician, a tug of war, face painting and a coconut shy.

DJ David Stocks, of Epsom General Hospital Radio, helped the celebrations go with a swing, and the winner of a prize draw walked away with a one week holiday in Barbados.

Organiser Mark Swan said the event was also to thank the volunteers, supporters and donors who have helped the trust in the last decade.

He said: “The event was truly a celebration in every way with both young and old thoroughly enjoying themselves.”
