A trial date has been set for a man accused of stabbing and raping a teenage girl.
Costica Voedes, 32, of High Street, Epsom, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of rape, kidnap, false imprisonment, possession of an offensive weapon, affray and common assault.
He appeared at South East Surrey Magistrates Court in Redhill yesterday (Monday, June 20) but did not indicate a plea in relation to the charges.
Mr Voedes will next appear at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, July 21 for his trial.
Surrey Police said the charges relate to an incident which took place shortly after 10.30pm on Friday, June 17 at Pizza Hut in Waterloo Road and Court Recreation Ground in Epsom.
A 17-year-old girl was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting after being stabbed in the abdomen. Surrey Police described her injuries as serious but not life threatening.
