An Epsom school joined in the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations with their very own red, white and blue themed ‘street party’.

Children and staff at Wallace Fields Infant School in Dorling Drive, dressed in Union Jack colours for the event, held last Friday.

A recreation of the traditional street parties of the 1950s, the school was decked out with bunting and flags, with the children enjoying a picnic lunch.

Every child also received a commemorative coin, specially issued for the Queen’s birthday.

Headteacher, Nicky Mann said: It was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce and celebrate our British values as a school, and commemorate this momentous occasion. This truly national event was a great chance for us all to get together and show the strength of our community spirit.”
