An elderly man suffered serious head and leg injuries in a single-car crash in Fetcham yesterday evening.
The victim, a man believed to be in his 80s, was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting following the crash at 7.15pm.
His blue Alfa Romeo had crashed into a road sign on the Guildford Road near the junctions with The Ridgeway and Cobham Road.
The stretch of road between the two junctions was closed for several hours while Surrey Police’s collision investigators examined the scene. The road has been fully reopened since.
