Bestselling author Jacqueline Wilson will be coming to Ewell next weekend as part of a reading festival to mark National Libraries Day.

The author of kids’ favourites The Illustrated Mum and The Bed and Breakfast Star as well as the Tracy Beaker series will talk about her work at Bourne Hall in Spring Street, Ewell at 2pm on Saturday, February 6.

There will also be a Beast Quest adventure for children over six years-old and a range of activities for younger children including storytelling events in the adjacent library.

National Libraries Day will be preceded by a schools tour on which illustrators and authors including Blue Peter Book Award-shortlisted Lara Williamson will visit pupils in schools across Surrey.

Schools taking part include Trinity Leatherhead and St Martin Junior School in Epsom.

Each of the schools events will be live streamed so any school nationally can watch.

Tickets for these events can be booked via the Epsom Playhouse website www.epsomplayhouse.co.uk
