GCSE results at Ewell Castle School saw a significant improvement this year with the school “returning to an upward trend in performance”.

At 88 per cent, the A* to C pass rate at the independent school, in Church Street, Ewell rose for the third year in a row, and 92 per cent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades, excluding maths and English.

The overall pass rate at the school was 100 per cent.

Peter Harris, principal, said: “Congratulations go to all our pupils but particularly to our top performers who were Sasha Vesovic with 9 A*s and 3 A grades, and Hyunjae Lee who achieved 6 A*s, 3 As, 1 B and 1 C grade.

“Most of our students now choose to stay on at Ewell Castle after their GCSEs, and we’re particularly delighted with the high levels of interest we have received from girls wishing to join us in the Sixth Form to study for their A Levels.

“We’re very pleased with the growth of our Sixth Form which has received extra resources and facilities in recent years.”

Ewell Castle School has a few Sixth Form places left for September 2014, and welcomes prospective students, who have achieved a minimum of Grade B at GCSE in their chosen A Level subject, to visit and take a tour of the School.
