A man was arrested for being abusive to a woman and staff in a library yesterday.
Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team posted on Facebook that an arrest had been made at Stoneleigh Library in the Broadway, Stoneleigh.
The team today said: "PC Stewart and PC Doherty arrested a male yesterday in Stoneleigh Library for being abusive to a female and staff.
"The male concerned was arrested and taken to our en-suite facilities, he is now currently on bail. Doesn't pay to cause a disturbance in the library."
A police spokesman said: "Surrey Police attended Stoneleigh Library in the Broadway at 12.30pm on Tuesday August 12 following reports of a man being verbally abusive to members of the public and staff.
"A 32-year-old man from Lambeth, London, has been arrested on suspicion of using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment.
"He has been released on bail until Thursday September 18."
