A young woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act after trespassing on the railway tracks at Ashtead station.
The trespasser, 21, from Ashtead, was removed from the tracks and taken to Epsom Hospital where she was assessed yesterday.
Rail passengers experienced hour-long delays after police were called to reports of a woman on the tracks at 2.28pm.
A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: “The 21-year-old woman from Ashtead was removed from the tracks and detained under the Mental Health Act.”
