Police are appealing for help to identify two men after a brawl on a train between Clapham Junction and Sanderstead.

The fight happened about 11.30pm on April 16.

PC Mike Botterill, the investigating officer, said: “A fight took place on the service involving a number of people, after a group of men boarded a train at Clapham Junction late on a Saturday evening.

“As they reached East Croydon, the pair left the train before running up the platform and getting back on board and resuming the fight.”

Police have issued CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in relation to the fight.

PC Botterill added: “We want to speak to both of the men in these stills as we believe they will have important information that can help us establish what took place.

"It is possible they were returning from watching a Saracens v Harlequins rugby match at Wembley earlier in the day.

“We are also very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the fight, or who may have been injured as a result.”

A 50-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from East Grinstead, have already been arrested on suspicion of affray.

They have been released on bail until early June 6 and 7.
