An elderly man who was killed after being hit by an articulated lorry yesterday has been named by police.
He has not yet been formally identified but police say he is Maurice Baxter, from Croydon.
The 80-year-old was crossing Wellesley Road at about 2.30pm yesterday when the collision happened.
Some witnesses said they believed Mr Baxter had just left a funeral at the nearby St Mary's Catholic Church when he was killed.
Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at Croydon Mortuary on Monday, October 20.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to the collision.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and has not been arrested.
