A labradoodle puppy missing from the Chessington area has been found dead by the A3.
Ghost, just five months old, was discovered on Friday, March 16.
He went missing from a dog day care near Barwell Estate on Tuesday, March 6 and extensive searches were carried out by the community and his distraught owners.
Andrea Pothier and her boyfriend, who live in Fulham, were searching morning and night and there were many voluntary searches from The Star Pub in Kingston Road, Malden Rushett.
At the time, Andrea said: “It’s overwhelming. It’s been a week now, or eight days, we’ve had a lot people helping from the community.
“I guess the important thing is that as it’s such a vast area we need more sightings of the dog to get reported as people may not be aware he is missing.
“My partner and I have been doing barbecues in the evening to try and tempt him, but it hasn’t been successful so far.”
Advise for people looking for lost dogs is not call out or whistle but put some food down slowly and be quiet and avoid direct eye contact so as not to frighten them.
Ghost's death follows the best efforts of his family and the community, who did everything they could to find him.
