Year 2 pupils at a Leatherhead preparatory school enjoyed the final hours Rugby World Cup fever last Friday as they enjoyed a day of rugby-related activities - shortly before England crashed out of the tournament.
Students at Downsend School in Leatherhead Road, spent the morning designing and creating their own 3D rugby player, choosing a team for their player to represent and writing about their player profiles.
They then conducted a maths investigation to see who could throw the rugby ball the furthest, recording their results on a specially designed world cup sheet, before ending the day with an afternoon of tag rugby.
Head of Year 2, Laura Goodwin, said: "The children enjoyed doing Rugby World Cup activities all week and all their homework was Rugby World Cup related.
"We were lucky enough to have some official merchandise donated by the RFU and so each child was presented with a certificate for their hard work and enthusiasm.
"The children absolutely loved the day and we hope the memories stay with them for a long time to come."
In addition, the whole of the Lower School have taken part in a Rugby World Cup poster competition and the winner will receive a Rugby World Cup book and stationery.
