A retired illustrator of Enid Blyton books has celebrated her 103rd birthday in a Wimbledon Village care home.
Jennifer Nash, who lives at Lee House in Lancaster Avenue, was joined by friends and relatives for a high tea with a luxury handbag-inspired birthday cake.
She said: "It was absolutely lovely. My two nieces both came along and my second cousin. I'm very well looked after here."
Mrs Nash has lived at the care home for two years, after moving from sheltered housing on the Isle of Wight.
Although she doesn't draw anymore because of her eyesight, she keeps up her creative endeavours with plenty of needlework.
Head of care Afshan Ahmad said: "She likes to be very well presented. At 103 now she is very up on her appearance and wanting to look her best.
"She is fiercely independent and still lives her life to the fullest."
Lee House looks after 27 elderly people. It is part of the Abbeyfield Society, a charity-run organisation which relies on fundraising to provide extra treats for residents.
