Merton parents concerned by the standard of school dinners are stepping up their campaign next week with the UK premiere of shocking food documentary, Two Angry Moms.
The American school food film will be shown for free at the Odeon cinema in Wimbledon on Thursday at 8pm, in association with Merton Parents for Better Food in School, Netmums, School Food Matters and Children’s Food Campaign.
The documentary, made by award-winning filmmaker and concerned mum Amy Kalafa, shows what happened when two US mums took on the American school food industry to ban foods like turkey twizzlers, Jamie Oliver-style.
England has seen the fastest growth in obesity in Europe, and according to the Commons Health Select Committee, obese children could become the first generation to die before their parents.
Ms Kalafa will be available for questions after the showing and tickets are available from Paula Sutcliff at paula@mertonparents.co.uk.
