St Elphege’s Infant School choir sang at the Royal Albert Hall for the Music for Youth: Schools Prom on Tuesday.

The choir of 70 children sang playground songs in different languages and performed dance routines.

Francis Hawkes, the school’s headteacher said: “When I showed the children the Albert Hall online they could not believe they were going. Some are the youngest in the school and have never left Wallington.

“The children have been practising after school every Wednesday – this is the culmination of a year’s hard work.”
