Outstanding GCSE results at the only boys' comprehensive school in Surrey have placed it at among the best in Britain.
Ewell’s Glyn School came 23rd out of the country's 245 comprehensive schools for its GCSE results last month according to a table published by The Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The league table was based on the percentage of candidates with five or more A*-C grades including English and maths.
It was a record breaking year for the school with 86.61 per cent of boys achieving the target.
A third of all results at the school were either A* or A.
Executive headteacher Jon Chaloner told the BBC: "I believe it's the hard work of students and staff but also their parents as well in supporting the boys.
"This year we have broken records again so we are quite happy."
On results day Nathan Gravenell, a student at Glyn School, said: "I'm really happy. I did better than I expected. I've done well enough to stay here and continue with A-levels."
