A project to drive down unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease amongst teenagers has won top prize at a dragon’s den style competition.
Patsy Ferreira, from Mitcham, presented her idea to a panel of dragons at an event hosted by Social Enterprise Merton as part of a free 14-week business course.
The qualified sexual health educator, who had previously lost her job when her employer's funding was cut, pitched her idea to panel of dragons which included the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Krystal Miller, and three other business professionals.
Her project to provide workshops for children aged 11 to 16 to promote healthy relationships, sexual health and drug related matters won out against three other entrepreneurs.
Coun Miller, presented Ms Ferreira with a cheque for £100 on July 20.
