Pupils sent home from All Saints Benhilton School after suspected gas leak
Pupils at All Saints Benhilton CofE Primary School have been sent home after gas was smelled in a staff room.
Southern Gas Networks staff have visited the site in All Saints' Road and said the site is safe but parents had already been contacted and asked to pick up their children.
Gas was smelled in a staff room at around 12.15pm.
Headteacher, Rosalind Sutton, said: "We evacuated the children and staff to [All Saints' Church].
"We have called the gas board, the school has been checked and it is safe but we had already called parents and asked them to collect their children."
