Just a few months after a sheep at Happy Valley had its throat ripped out in a dog attack, another one of the flock has been mauled.
The most recent attack happened between November 29 and November 30.
A spokesman for Downlands Partnership - the conservation group that keeps the sheep in order - believes another dog is behind the attack.
"Yet another sheep has been unnecessarily attacked and mauled by a dog and the rest of the flock left distressed in one of the paddocks that were being autumn grazed," he said.
Signage is posted around the valley and grazing paddock to warn the public of the potential dangers of dogs near sheep.
The paddock also has a dog control order that prohibits dogs off the lead. It is the legal responsibility of dog walkers to leash their dog(s) when around livestock.
If anyone has any information regarding this further incident call the Downlands Partnership Grazing team on 07968 832692.
