Flags and banners have been hung to raise the profile of a strip of shops in Walton.
Walton Business Group successfully secured funding from Elmbridge for the flags to go up at the Halfway.
They will be in place for the jubilee weekend and remain up throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Sarah-Jane Shellard, director of WBG, said: “The Halfway provides a great service for both local residents and those passing through the area, complete with convenient parking.
“We are delighted to get the assistance from Elmbridge for this project particularly during this tough economic time.
“There was a real sense of excitement and community when the flags went up.”
Twitter account @TheHalfwayWOT has been set up to keep residents up-to-date with what is going on in the retail area.
