A council house owner who allowed his home to be used as a drugs den has been evicted and the property closed down.
Croydon Council and the Met Police acted to evict 32-year-old Emma Chincharo from her home on Granden Road, Norbury after neighbours said drug dealers made them scared to enter the street.
A police raid found windows smashed, dog faeces and urine in the kitchen and syringes and crack pipes and splattered with blood.
As a result officers from the council’s antisocial behaviour team worked with the police to obtain a premises closure order, granted on May 22.
The council will go back to court to take back possession of the property on July 12.
Councillor Dudley Mead, cabinet spokesperson for housing, said: “This kind of antisocial behaviour is not acceptable and can make life for those living nearby unbearable.
“This positive outcome has been achieved thanks to the hard work of our antisocial behaviour officers and the Safer Neighbourhood Team working in partnership with the local residents.
“It should act as a warning to others who cause problems for their neighbours that such behaviour will not be tolerated.”
