The dream of pop stardom is over for Cassius Henry, after he was eliminated from BBC show The Voice.

The 32-year-old had made a special trip to his old school, South Norwood Primary, ahead of his performance on Saturday, but support for Cassius was not enough and viewers were left shocked when he was given the boot.

Mentor and pop singer Jessie J chose instead to take his teammate Becky Hill through to next week's semi final.

Fans of the former Selhurst College student took to Twitter to criticise Jessie's decision and offer support.

One user, @SimplySteph_23, tweeted: "So disappointed you didn’t go through, you deserved it. Definitely going to have a big career in front of you x."

Another user @DaveSilcox said: "BIg ups to @IamCassiusHenry for getting so far in #thevoice!!! U smashed it man! the start of big things mate."

After being booted off the show, Cassius tweeted: "I just want to say thanks to every one of my true followers, the support has been great! I will be working hard for you all."
