Five crime-fighting and community safety projects in Surrey are to receive a funding boost from the proceeds of crime.
Grants totalling £20,000 have been made by the police under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA), which enables assets confiscated from criminals to be put back as cash into communities.
The projects awarded grants are the Epsom and Ewell home security scheme, BFree Youth Cafe in Leatherhead, the Reigate and Redhill YMCA, the Bushy Hill community cohesion event in Guildford, and the Tandridge School of Hard Knocks.
The POCA Panel sits once a year in May to consider funding bids and the closing date for the next round of applications will be in Spring 2013.
