Residents are being urged to get Epsom and Ewell looking its best for the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics by participating in a borough clean-up.
The council is calling on residents to get involved in litter-picking in their neighbourhoods on Saturday, May 26. Schools, friends of parks groups and other local organisations have already signed-up.
The assembly points on the day will be Bourne Hall car park; Ewell Court House car park, Alexandra Recreation Ground car park, Grafton Road near Linden Bridge School and at the end of Green Lanes in West Ewell.
Groups will be meeting at 9.30am, with the Grafton Road group assembling at 10am.
Counillor Clive Woodbridge, who is leading the clean-up, said: "We hope that all the activities that are taking place in the borough in 2012 will help to create a greater sense of community pride, promote enjoyment of the borough amongst our residents and encourage further volunteering.
"I am sure these clean-up days will help achieve all three things and I hope they become a regular fixture in the community calendar."
