Armed police cordoned off a restaurant after reports of gun fire.

Members of the public called Surrey Police after they heard what they believed to be gun shots coming from above Cinammon in Hersham.

Surrey Police’s armed response and dog units attended the address as 11.30pm on Tuesday, May 8, and put a cordon around the property.

Officers entered the premises and arrested six men, aged between 26 and 56, on suspicion of a breach of the peace.

They carried out a thorough search of the address, but no firearm was found and there were no reports of any injuries.

Four of the men were released with no further action taken.

A 51-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were subsequently arrested on suspicion of immigration offences and the matter is being investigated by the UK Border Agency.
