A man set a personal best at the London 2012 Olympic Games stadium.

Chris Clark, from Epsom, ran 100m and clocked a personal best time of 11.85 seconds in Stratford on Thursday, May 3.

He also met with Jessica Ennis’s coach Toni Minichello and Irish sprinter Derval O’Rourke for some expert sprinting techniques.

Mr Clark won a place in the race as part of a Twitter campaign created by Powerade the sports drink responsible for hydrating athletes at the upcoming games.

They had to submit their most inspired "on your marks" pose images.

Mr Clark said: "What an amazing experience. It’s incredible just to step inside the stadium and get a sense of what the athletes will experience when the games kicks off this summer, but to be given the chance to run on the very same track has made this day even more special.

"Everyone got into the spirit of the day and I am delighted with my time - I think the top running tips certainly helped."
