Firefighters from West Norwood station attended the blaze in Knollys Road last night.
Fire crews got hot and steamy at a bathroom in West Norwood after an electric shower overheated and sparked a blaze.
About 30 people were told to evacuate a block of flats in Knollys Road following the fire at 11pm last night.
Fortunately no one was injured but a spokesman for West Norwood station said the fire, which was caused by an electrical fault, caused “a lot of smoke”.
