Oxshott Village Day has been cancelled because of water-logged grounds.
The recent rain, falling throughout this extended drought period, has made April the wettest since records began.
Oxshott’s annual May fair, due to take place on Monday, May 7, will now take place on Monday, August 27.
The fair, now in its fifth year, was to include a funfair, martial arts workshops, bouncy castle, clown show, jazz band and ponies among other exciting highlights.
But publicity officer Felicity Bond said they did not want to risk ruining the field by holding it while the ground was water-logged.
