A Hollywood actor worked up a sweat as he joined a group of fundraisers hoping to open a boxing gym.
Homeland star David Harewood, who lives in Streatham, took part in the five-mile hike from Streatham to the Houses of Parliament with members of Team Lambeth Boxing, who, wearing T-shirts bearing the words “Stop gun and knife crime in Streatham”, were raising money to set up a gym for youngsters.
Calling on people to donate, organiser Darren Hill later tweeted: “I’m so passionate about getting the kids on the straight and narrow.
“I need people to understand how important this project is for young people.”
Mr Harewood has previously spoken out over gang problems in Streatham.
