A student paramedic has finished 95th in the London Marathon completing the 26-mile course in just 2 hours, 35 minutes, 36 seconds.
Patrick Wright, 27, from Wimbledon, has been fitting his training in around his full-time job as a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service, often running more than 10 miles after a 12-hour shift totalling around 80 miles per week.
Mr Wright, a member of Hercules Wimbledon and Tadworth AC who took up running in 2007, said: "It the second marathon I have ever done.
"It was a great day and was an awesome race.
"It’s unbelievable how well supported it was.
"About half way I was 185th and I finished 95th, so I was quite aware that I was overtaking people.
"It was a personal best by three and a half minutes."
Wilson Kipsang of Kenya won the men’s race with a time of 2 hours 4 minutes, 44 seconds while Mary Keitany, also from Kenya, won the women's race finishing with a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes, 37 seconds.
Wallington's David Weir won the men's wheelchair marathon for a record-equalling sixth time.
