BBC newsreader Nicholas Owen met with Croydon residents and signed copies of his autobiography at Waterstones last weekend.
Mr Owen who has been the face of television news for decades, is also the voice of Croydon's Tramlink.
His book 'Days Like This' recounts his half century working in the media, including his role in ITN's reporting of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales and his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
