Firefighters were called to more fires in Battersea this morning, believed to have been caused by an arsonist targeting the area since February.

Crews were first called to a fire in a bin at 1am in Westbridge Road close to flats.

It was put out within minutes but two hours later they were called to a second fire in Surrey Lane.

This was again put out promptly and without any significant damage or injury.

The fire service believe the blazes are caused by an arsonist who has been setting fire to bins and rubbish chutes around the Surrey Lane estate.

A spokesperson for the fire brigade said the attacks are being investigated.
