Unwanted rubbish was tidied up by police and partner agencies at a crime prevention and clean-up day in Walton.

Officers from the north Walton safer neighbourhood team joined forces with Elmbridge Housing Trust to organise the big tidy-up event in the Thamesmead and Thamesview House area.

The event gave people the opportunity to bring their unwanted rubbish and other items from gardens, communal areas and sheds to be disposed of safely and securely.

Residents were able to throw their rubbish in a skip in the Thamesview House car park, in Franklyn Road, Saturday, April 21.

Police and the housing trust arranged for any larger or heavy items to be collected.

Officers also marked bicycles and other property during the event.
