Councillor Jeff Hanna once again shows the selective way in which Labour in Merton deals with the truth.
As Assistant Commander Simon Byrne stated recently, the Metropolitan Police is receiving an additional £90m from the Government for policing in London this year.
There are 1000 more police on the streets of London since Boris Johnson became Mayor in 2008 and many of our local PCSOs have recently been accepted for training to become warrant card-carrying police officers.
The Met is again recruiting PCSOs to replace them both here in Merton and across London.
Coun Hanna should apologise to readers of your paper for misleading them.
Crime is down across London and police numbers are up under Mayor Johnson. These are indisputable facts.
