More than a thousand people enjoyed a charity spring fair and helped raise £12,000 for disabled children over the Easter weekend.

Tadworth-based charity The Children's Trust, which helps to enhance the lives of children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, held its annual Spring Fair at Tadworth Court on Saturday, April 7, which was opened by its president, Sir Brian Hill.

The visitors enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, which included go-karting, an inflatable castle, fairground rides, face-painting and the popular Easter Egg Hunt which kept younger guests entertained. A marquee of stalls offered a wide range of items for sale, from fashion accessories to food, and the finale of the afternoon was the judging of the Easter Bonnet competition for the most creative and colourful hat.

Emma Burgess, who organised the event, said: "We had a wonderful turnout at the Spring Fair and I would like to thank everyone involved who made it such a success: KBR the event sponsors, those who provided the children’s entertainment, the stall holders, our loyal band of volunteers and all the families who turned out to show their support.

"Our grateful thanks, too, to companies and community groups that kindly provided all the Easter eggs for the fair and for the children here at the trust."
