A milkman who was crushed against a milk float at work is suing the driver for £200,000 for the injuries he sustained.

Trevor Wilson, 50, of St Andrews Road, Coulsdon, was working as a Franchise Support Dairy Supervisor for Dairy Crest when the incident happened on March 17, 2009.

According to documents filed at the High Court, Mr Wilson, who was 47 at the time of the incident, was working at the back of the milk float in Croham Road, South Croydon, when Robert Dyas drove into him, crushing him against the back vehicle.

The claim states Mr Dyas, of Normanton Road, Croydon, was negligent and failed to keep any proper look out.

He is also accused of failing to take action to avoid the collision, driving too fast, failing to keep his distance from the milk float and causing a collision.

Three months after the incident an admission was made on behalf of Mr Dyas' by Direct Line Insurance Plc.

The letter, dated June 24, 2009, stated: "For the purpose of this potential action and this action alone, we are prepared to admit liability on behalf of our insured."

Mr Wilson has relied on this admission to support his claim for compensation at a rate and for a period to be determined by the Court.

Although his injuries are not detailed in the writ, he has submitted three medical reports to support his claim which said he suffered pain, injury, loss and damage.
