A bar has been banned from hosting live music events after complaints of late night partying from sleep-starved neighbours.
The High Bar and Restaurant, on Streatham High Road, previously had permission to hold events until midnight seven days a week.
But it was served a noise abatement notice in December last year after residents complained.
It has now had its music licence revoked and will have to get rid of its dance floor.
Moevi Williams, 78, who lives above the bar, said: “At weekends they play from morning until night.
“When I wake up in the night to use the loo, the noise keeps me up and I cannot get back to sleep.”
At a meeting on Wednesday, April 4, officers from Lambeth Council also told the bar’s owners their alcohol licence would be suspended for six weeks while they liaised with council officers about noise levels.
According to a council report, eight people voiced their support for the licence review between January 14 and February 10.
