A noisy neighbour has been forced to face the music after staging a loud party.
Simone White-Yule was served a noise abatement notice after residents of Rectory Lane, Wallington, complained about music blasting from her house during a summer party.
After this was ignored, Sutton Council gave her a fixed penalty of £100, which went unpaid.
White-Yule was brought before Croydon Magistrates' Court, where she pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the terms of the Noise Abatement Notice.
She was made to pay out a total of £415, made up from £300 for the offence, a contribution towards prosecution costs of £100 and a victims surcharge of £15.
Councillor Colin Hall, Sutton Council’s executive member for environment and climate change, said: "This goes to show that there’s no need to feel powerless against noisy neighbours.
"Ms White-Yule now has to pay over £400 which could have been saved by simply turning the music down.
"This should serve as a warning to inconsiderate neighbours - if you cause a nuisance then you will be made to pay."
