As hundreds of Croydon College students graduated this week, perhaps the slide technician should have taken a course in English.
This photo shows an embarrassing gaffe made during its “gaduation” ceremony held on Friday at the college.
But the unfortunate slip up did not stop over 1,00 guests from watching more than 300 jubilant students graduate.
One student Margaret Dorney who has just completed a two year teaching diploma, was accompanied by her long lost sister The social worker tracked down her younger sibling, Hazell Ozell, after being asked to be a representative for a Croydon Library archives project.
Margaret, a mother of one, was chosen having grown up in a Croydon care home for children, Mission of Hope.
She was advised to look at her records, which had been held in the library following the closure of the home.
Margaret said: "We're so close. It's wonderful to have a sister and we get on so well."
She is now going on to become a mentor for Action for Children. She said: "I want to show young people that you can achieve, you may have difficulties but you can do it," she said.
