An afternoon comedy club has been designed for parents with under-ones in tow.

Screaming with Laughter, at The Bedford, in Balham, offers parents the chance to see the best acts from the comedy circuit without having to book a babysitter.

Lucy Porter, star of TV's Mock the Week - herself a mum of one and heavily pregnant - hosts Hal Cruttenden, Ellie Taylor and newcomer Viv Groskop on October 9.

Porter said: "Feel free to feed and change your baby. The acts won't make fun of you if you have to move around, whip out a boob or a bottle, or if your baby's just having a bit of a shout and scream.

"All the acts are experienced club performers, used to rowdy stag and hen night crowds at the weekend, so a bit of noise or the odd bare breast won't phase them.

"Expectant parents are also very welcome, as are grandparents, aunties and uncles, nannies, au pairs, carers and family friends. Feel free to bring along as many people as you like, we just ask that each party contains at least one baby or pregnant woman.

"Doing comedy in the daytime is always a bit odd - people aren't drunk like they are in the evenings, but there's a naughtiness about it, like you're bunking off school or something.

"Of course it will be slightly unusual having babies screaming and parents feeding and changing nappies whilst the comics are on stage, but we want people to feel quite comfortable with it - no matter how unruly the babies are it's nothing compared to some of the drunk and rowdy weekend crowds we face all the time."

The show is at The Bedford, Bedford Hill, Balham on October 9 at 2.30pm. Adult material will be performed so the admission policy is under one or over 16.

Tickets cost £8 on the door or contact @VivGroskop on Twitter to book in advance.
