A consistent, high-quality apprentice programme with leading training provider JTL allows businesses to train up talented young people to build a reputation for excellence.

Jamie Weakner, pictured right, studied at Carshalton College to qualify as an electrician, and was honoured last year as London Apprentice of the Year by JTL, which has two decades experience providing high-quality electricians and plumbers to businesses in the building services engineering sector.

Working throughout London Jamie, from Croydon, is employed by electrical contractors M&M Electrical Ltd of Farringdon which has 17 apprentices working in the company. M&M Electrical’s commitment to replenish its skills has allowed it to provide a range of services from small rewires to major refurbishments installation, renewal and maintenance, domestic and commercial properties, in hospitals, retail outlets and hotels.

Neil Sumarno is Jamie’s JTL Electrical training officer who assesses on-site work and oversees all apprentices’ day release progress at Carshalton College to acquire a Level 3 vocational qualification, which is the equivalent of two A-levels.

JTL’s London regional manager Simon Rudge has seen one-man bands to large organisations throughout south London contact JTL to renew its apprenticeships as well as taking on school leavers for the first time.
