A Walton man had a lucky escape when his kitchen caught fire after he left an oil-pan unattended.
Firefighters from Walton and Esher were on the scene to put out the blaze and ventilate the flat at Bradshaw House, Bishop's Hill, last Friday.
The occupant had left the pan and gone to work on his computer when he was alerted by his smoke detector.
He found the pan, cooker, microwave and kitchen furniture on fire.
